Cool Drinks

Foodie-ism is on the rise, where now, Instagrammed dinner pictures are practically an art form. But what about drinks? Drinks are cool too! Especially drinks in Alexandria, a place where wine, cocktails, juices and brews (of all kinds) are taken very seriously. With so many great sips on the menu, finding where to start can be quite the conundrum. To help out, here’s a list of some local drinks that are either cool to the touch or will pump your cool cred up to another level (or both, if we’re being honest).

Misha’s Coffee

At Misha’s, coffee and vibes are no joke. Poke your head in and you’ll see canisters of beans from all over the world, letting you know their artisanal brews are made with a helping heap of authenticity. Oh, and if you actually walk in and get a drink, that’s cool too.

Guinness Stout Float at Eamonn’s a Dublin Chipper

This ice cream float was made for adults, and that’s exactly how it should be. One delectably thick pour of Guinness Stout plus a swirl of Eamonn’s a Dublin Chipper’s house soft serve equals a whole lot of happiness.

Lemonade at Bittersweet Café

Who doesn’t love a sip of cold, house-made lemonade that you don’t actually have to stand on the side of the road for to buy from your neighbor’s kid? Don’t me wrong, that’s got its perks, but does their lemonade come in a cranberry flavor? Didn’t think so.

Beer from Port City Brewing Co.

Not only are Port City Brewing Co.’s beers refreshing and cool to the taste (ever tried the Essential Pale Ale? You can thank me later), but they’re actually really cool. PCBC is Alexandria’s first brewery since Prohibition, and is served at multiple locations throughout the city—how cool is that!
