Alexandria, Virginia, located on the waterfront just minutes from Washington, D.C., is known for its independent restaurants, walkable cobblestone streets and red brick sidewalks, and a bustling downtown that hums with artistic energy. That doesn’t change at night, when some of the best food specials, live music and entertainment are happening in the Port City.
We’ve rounded up some of our favorite spots for late-night eats in Alexandria, including some with special menus, live music or other entertainment like karaoke, trivia and more.
Late-Night Food Specials
Lena’s Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap

Lena’s Wood-Fired Pizza & Tap offers a new “10 for 10 at 10” special late-night menu featuring 10” pizzas for $10 from 10 p.m. to midnight Fridays and Saturdays. Their late-night menu also includes bar snacks and special cocktails that are best enjoyed by the fire pits on the outdoor patio.

Not far from Lena’s in Alexandria’s Parker-Gray/Braddock neighborhood, Mason Social is open until 2 a.m. Thursday to Saturday and midnight the rest of the week. Mason Social serves a special bar menu until closing, with items like chili dog, house tacos, wings, carnitas nachos and more.

Don Taco is open until 2 a.m. every day, serving some of the best tacos and cocktails on King Street. Their Late-Night Happy Hour is one of the best deals in Old Town, with a different special Sunday to Thursday night including buy 2 tacos get 1 free, half off small plates, and half off rice bowls.
Bugsy’s Pizza Restaurant & Sports Bar

Bugsy’s, located near the foot of King Street, is a casual spot for a late-night slice of pizza and a beer any night of the week. Open until 2 a.m. every day of the week, they also have a “Midnight Munch Buffet” Friday and Saturday from 9 p.m. to midnight, with all-you-can-eat pizza and salad for under $10.

Chadwicks is a local favorite in Alexandria, and one of the best places to grab a late dinner in Old Town. Dinner is served until 1 a.m. every night, with the bar open until 2 a.m. most nights.
Late-Night Live Music & Entertainment
Murphy’s Grand Irish Pub
Murphy’s Irish Pub is open until 2 a.m. seven days a week, offering a special late-night menu with burgers, salads, fish and chips and more. It’s also one of the liveliest spots in town, with acoustic Irish music throughout the week and special events like trivia night every Tuesday. Bonus tip: If you’re a fan of European soccer, it’s the best place in town to catch games at odd hours and they carry every major sports channel.

Waterfront restaurant Blackwall Hitch is the perfect place for night owls, open until 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday and until midnight Monday through Thursday. Blackwall has live music every Thursday to Sunday with local and touring musicians in all different genres, and fantastic specialty cocktails to sip on while you enjoy the music.
If you’re in Alexandria’s West End neighborhood looking for late-night eats and live music, Nick’s Nightclub is the place to go. Open Tuesday to Saturday until 2 a.m., Nick’s has two spaces for entertainment, meaning you can often choose between fun events like karaoke or live country music.
Where else can you find karaoke AND a live DJ seven nights a week? Rock-It-Grill is one of the best spots in Alexandria for late-night food and fun, including a late-night menu from 11 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Zikrayet Lebanese Restaurant
Zikrayet in Alexandria’s Carlyle neighborhood is the definition of a hidden gem, with an authentic Lebanese menu loved by locals and visitors alike. Open until 1:30 a.m. seven days a week, Zikrayet is a go-to spot for live music, often sung in Arabic, and other live entertainment including DJ’s, dancing and hookah.
Two Nineteen Restaurant

Two Nineteen Restaurant will make you feel like you’re in a New Orleans jazz club, and the aptly named Bayou Room is open until 2 a.m. every day with a live DJ and a dance floor. Upstairs, the Basin St. Lounge has live music every night, including some of the best jazz artists in the region. If you’re looking for an extended date night, Two Nineteen is sure to impress.
King Street Blues

King Street Blues is where you’ll find a lot of locals on Friday and Saturday nights, catching live music at the bar from 9 p.m. to midnight. The casual atmosphere and comfort food make for a fun weekend night out with friends.
